How to Promote a Metin2 Pvp Server: 15 Ways to Attract Players
Setting up a good Metin2 Pvp server is only half the job; the other half is getting the word out to the right players. Here are 15 ways to promote your Metin2 server, in order from preparation to keeping players around. You don't have to do them all at once; start with the ones that fit your team's capacity and your opening date.
Get your shop window ready before promoting
When players spot you on a list, in a video or in a friend's message, the first thing they do is check your website and Discord. If that first look goes badly, even the best promotion is wasted.
- Define a clear identity: You should be able to state your server's type, level range and what sets you apart in one sentence. A server "for everyone" doesn't really fit anyone. You'll find the differences between the types in our server types guide.
- Build a simple, fast website: The client download link, registration page, rules and contact details belong on the first screen. A broken link or a slow download loses players before they even register.
- Keep your Discord alive: Separate your announcement, support and chat channels, and answer questions quickly. An empty Discord sends the message "this server is dead".
Get seen on server lists
- Add your server to lists: Most players look for new servers on lists. Adding your server to Metin2PvpServarlar.com is free, and you can do it in a few minutes on the add server page. We explain how to fill in the form in our step-by-step guide.
- Enter your opening date early: Once your server is published, it also appears in the opening calendar if its opening date is in the future. That way players discover you weeks before launch.
- Put work into your banner and description: Your banner is what stands out most on the list (468×190 recommended); your server name, level range and strongest feature should be readable at a glance. The 130–160 character short description is your server page's description that can appear in search engines, so write it carefully too.
Turn votes into a growth tool
- Share your vote link everywhere: The order on the lists is based on the weekly vote count, and votes reset every Friday at 20:59 Turkish time (UTC+3). So even a newly opened server can make it into the best servers in its first week. Put the vote link from Control Panel › My Servers › API somewhere visible on your website, your Discord and in game.
- Reward players who vote: With the vote API on the same page, you can verify players who voted through your vote link within the last 24 hours and give them an in-game reward. Giving in-game rewards for votes is allowed; collecting votes in exchange for real money is forbidden.
- Add a backlink: If you place one of the link codes from your server's edit page on your website, your server gets 100 likes on every day the nightly check finds your link, and it earns the "Verified" badge.
Get known through content and community
- Make short promo videos: Show short clips of gameplay, Pvp action and systems. The server submission form also has a separate field for a YouTube link.
- Work with content creators: Invite streamers who play Metin2 to try your server. If you have made a deal, ask them not to hide from viewers that it's a promotion; honesty brings in more players in the long run.
- Be a regular on forums: Open a topic in the Server Showcases category of our forum, answer questions and post updates in the same topic. Copying the same ad everywhere, on the other hand, is spam and backfires.
Keep the players who come
The strongest promotion is a happy player's message to a friend. A server that can't keep its players has to spend its promotion effort all over again every week.
- Plan opening events: Fill the first week with guild wars, leveling races and quizzes. A quiz like the OX Competition on the official servers, if it's in your server files, is an easy way to get players online at the same time.
- Offer a refer-a-friend reward: Encourage your players to invite friends with in-game rewards. Give the reward once the invited player reaches a certain level; that way you stop people from farming rewards with fake accounts.
- Communicate openly and regularly: Share patch notes, bug fixes and rule changes on a regular basis. Keep an eye on the player reviews on your server page; recurring complaints show you what to fix first.
What to avoid
- Fake votes: Collecting votes with bots, scripts, VPNs or bought accounts, buying votes or paying money for votes is forbidden. Fraudulent votes can be deleted, the server's votes can be reset and the server can be removed from the list.
- Spam: Dumping ads in other communities' Discords and comment sections gives your server a bad name.
- Badmouthing rivals: Players don't trust teams that trash other servers. Talk about your own strengths instead.
- Unrealistic promises: Claims like "zero lag" or "completely cheat-free" destroy trust at the first problem. See what players look at when choosing a server in our 12-point checklist.
Frequently asked questions
Can a newly opened server reach the top in its first week?
Yes. Since votes reset every Friday at 20:59 Turkish time (UTC+3), every server starts the race from zero each week. A new server that encourages its community to vote can compete on the same terms as established ones.
When should I start promoting?
A few weeks before launch. If you add your server early with a future opening date, it appears in the opening calendar once it's published, and you build up a community on your Discord during the countdown.
Is it allowed to reward players who vote?
Yes, giving in-game rewards for votes verified through our vote verification is allowed. Buying votes, paying money for votes or collecting votes with bots and fake accounts is forbidden.
Which promotion method gets results fastest?
There's no single magic method. Lists and your vote link bring in the first players; events, fast support and honest communication make them stay.
