Metin2 Meley's Lair Guide: Guild Dungeon Tactics
Meley's Lair is the Metin2 dungeon that shows whether your guild really works as a team. Not a single hit lands directly on the Dragon Queen Meley; you can only defeat her through four Dragon Statues, with the right timing and good role assignments. This guide covers the guild requirements of Metin2 Meley's Lair, its four stages and tactics for your guild. The information follows the official servers; Pvp servers can change the requirements and rewards.
Who can enter Meley's Lair?
You register through Dragon Watcher Dolnarr in Doyyumhwan. The requirements on the official servers are:
- Character: At least level 90 and marked as a combatant in the guild member list.
- Guild: At least guild level 3, at least 600 guild rank points, and founded at least 24 hours ago.
- Participants: At least 4 and at most 16 players can join.
- Rules: Mounts can't be used inside, and the dungeon lasts 60 minutes.
- Cooldown: The dungeon has a 3-hour cooldown. With a Passage Ticket (Meley), you can enter without waiting.
We explain guild levels and how guild rank points work in our guild guide.
Why can't you hit Meley directly?
Dragon Queen Meley is a level 123 boss of the dragon race with the fire element. According to the official wiki, Meley can't be damaged directly; damage can only be dealt through the Dragon Statues. So the whole fight is about bringing the four statues down evenly and at the right time.
Meley's Lair in four stages
Stage 1: Bring the statues down to 75%
Attack the Dragon Statues and lower their HP to 75%. Magma Bugs attack you in the meantime. Once the statues hit this threshold, they change color and take no damage until the next stage.
Stage 2: Break the eggs
You need to bring the statues down to 50%, but 4 Dragon Eggs appear every 2 minutes. As long as the eggs stand, the statues take no damage, so breaking the eggs is a must. Magma Men join the fight at this stage too.
Stage 3: Dragon Watcher Idall
A Dragon Watcher Idall comes out of each statue, and you can bring the statues down to 0%. Idall is level 113 and deals skill damage: its skills can lower your attack speed by 20% for 15 seconds, and the Resistance against Skill Damage bonus reduces the damage you take from it. According to the English wiki, if the Idalls aren't dead by the end of this stage, you can't complete the dungeon.
Stage 4: The Dragonfire Ring
Once all four statues are at 0%, 4 different players must drag a Dragonfire Ring onto the statues within 10 seconds. According to the English wiki, the rings drop from monsters, each player can destroy only one statue, and if you miss the window, you wait for the next spawn. If you succeed, Meley is defeated and the Golden Dragon Chest appears.
Role assignments with your guild
| Role | Task |
|---|---|
| Statue teams | One team per statue; brings its HP down at an even pace |
| Egg hunters | Break the eggs that appear in stage 2 right away |
| Idall tanks | Sturdy characters pull the Idalls onto themselves, and the group kills them before the stage ends |
| Ring carriers | 4 players chosen in advance take the rings to the statues at the same time |
| Healers | Keep the group standing through attack speed debuffs |
Lower the statues' HP as evenly as possible so all teams reach the final stage together. Name the four ring carriers in voice chat before the fight; the 10-second window leaves no room for debate. Our guild war tactics guide also helps with communication and role assignments.
Rewards
Every player who completes the dungeon earns 4,564,000 EXP and picks one of two rewards from the Golden Dragon Chest:
- Queen Meley's Chest: Can contain weapons such as the Dragon Tooth Blade, the Lying Dragon Fan and the Phoenix Bow, plus helmets, shoes, pearls, Blessing Marbles, pet books and the Red Dragon Egg.
- Dragon Watcher Chest: Can contain weapons such as the Rune Sword, the Five Element Blade and the Solar Blade, plus helmets, pearls, Flame of the Dragon (B) and pet books.
According to the official wiki, 300 guild rank points are returned to the guild after the dungeon.
Meley's Lair on Pvp servers
The official English wiki also describes a separate version of Meley's Lair that you enter as a group; this guide focuses on the guild version. On Pvp servers, the level and guild requirements, the number of participants and the cooldown can be changed, so check the server's rules before registering your guild. For high-level guild content, look at level 65-250 servers, and post on our forum to recruit guild members.
