The First 24 Hours of a Metin2 Server Launch: How to Get Ahead

The First 24 Hours of a Metin2 Server Launch: How to Get Ahead

Launch day on a new Metin2 Pvp server is the only time everyone starts from the same line. Decisions made in the first 24 hours can become an advantage that lasts weeks; hasty mistakes leave you behind the crowd. This guide walks you through what to prepare before a Metin2 server launch and how to make the most of the first day.

Before launch: preparation is half the race

Everyone at the keyboard at launch starts at the same moment, but not everyone is equally prepared. As launch approaches, take care of these:

  • Install the client in advance: The server's website gets swamped at launch. Download the client from the official website a day early, install it and check that it starts.
  • Set up your account: If registration opens before launch, create your account; choose a password you don't use anywhere else.
  • Pick your class: Dithering on the character screen costs minutes. Decide on your class and which skill group you'll go for in advance.
  • Plan your group: Talk with your friends about who plays which class and which channel you'll meet on.
  • Pin down the time: Note the launch time in your own time zone and turn on Discord notifications.

We explain how to evaluate a server before it opens in our guide to newly opened servers. Follow upcoming launches in our opening calendar and newly listed servers on the new servers page.

The first hour: handle the crowds wisely

Login problems and lag are normal at launch. Waiting a few minutes often gets you in faster than trying to connect over and over. Once you're in:

  • Pick a channel: If the server offers more than one channel, choose the one where the starting areas are quieter.
  • Check your starter items: Open the starter pack if there is one, equip your gear and put your potions and skills on your quickslot bar.
  • Don't linger in the village: The first levels fly by. Chat and the market can wait; in the first hour, your only goal is progress.

First-day route: levels and routine

Most of the first day goes into leveling. Our fast leveling guide covers the experience mechanics and a level-by-level route in detail. A few extra tips for launch day:

  • Don't race the crowd: Where everyone is rushing for the same monsters and Metin stones, you lose time. Move to another area or channel for the same level.
  • Progress as a group: On crowded maps, grinding as a group is both faster and safer.
  • Try not to die: Every minute lost on launch day counts; don't dive into monsters far above your strength.
  • Spend your points as planned: Skill and status points spent at random for speed can weaken your character later on.

The first-day economy: opportunities and traps

On launch day the market hasn't settled yet; the same item can sell at very different prices from two sellers. That's both an opportunity and a trap:

  • Don't sell in a hurry: On the first day, scarce items such as upgrade materials or Skill Books are usually valuable. Check a few sellers' prices before you sell.
  • Basic needs first: Spend your Yang first on things that keep running out, such as potions; leave flashy but useless purchases for later.
  • Don't rush to the item shop: On the first day, nobody knows how long the server will last. Decide on spending after watching the community and the team for a few days.

Mistakes to avoid

  • A sleepless marathon: Playing 24 hours straight ruins your focus and decisions. Plan in breaks; a rested player progresses faster than a tired one.
  • Exploiting bugs: Abusing launch bugs gets you heavily penalized on many servers. Report any bug you see to the team with a screenshot.
  • Sharing your account: Offers like "I'll level your character while you sleep" mean handing your account and your hard work over to someone else.
  • Going it alone: Guilds are usually founded in the first days. Joining an active guild early makes things easier in dungeons and in Pvp.
  • Jumping into Pvp too early: Fights you take before your gear is ready waste time. Levels first, Pvp later.

A quick check at the end of the day

As you wrap up the first day, look at your level, your gear and the Yang you've saved, and set a goal for the next day. Read the announcements, note the maintenance times and pass on any bugs you noticed to the team. If you like the server, don't forget to vote for it. If the server gives vote rewards, you need to use the server's own vote link to claim them; the details are in our voting guide.

Frequently asked questions

How far ahead should I prepare for a server launch?

Install the client, create your account and pick your class at least a day in advance. Downloads left to the last minute can get stuck in the launch rush.

Which class progresses faster at launch?

In the first levels, the difference between classes is small. At higher levels, classes with strong area damage, such as the Body Warrior, Weaponry Sura and Dragon Force Shaman, stand out at killing monsters.

What should I do if I get lag on launch day?

Stop any downloads running in the background and switch to a quieter channel. If the problem persists, check the server's announcements; during the launch rush, lag usually comes from the server side.

If I fall behind on the first day, have I lost my chance?

No. The first day gives you an edge, but consistency makes the real difference. Players who play regularly and stick to their plan can catch up quickly, even if they missed the launch.
