Metin2 Archery Ninja Guide: Ranged Damage and Range Control

The Archery Ninja is a ranged specialist that poisons, burns and knocks down opponents before they ever get close. Played at the right distance, it leaves melee fighters helpless; once it loses that distance, it becomes one of the most fragile characters in the game. This Metin2 Archery Ninja guide covers the ranged skills, the skill order, stat distribution and how to get the most out of both your damage and your range.

Archery Ninja skills

The information is based on the skill pages of the official wiki:

Skill What does it do? Note
Poison Arrow Fires a poisoned arrow and knocks its target down. High poison chance; hits several targets.
Fire Arrow Fires a burning arrow. Has a chance to set the target on fire; scales with Intelligence.
Repetitive Shot Fires several arrows in a row at a single enemy. A single-target damage skill.
Arrow Shower Fires several arrows at several enemies. Covers a wide area; useful when killing monsters.
Feather Walk Raises your movement speed for a short time. At Perfect level, the increase reaches 75%.
Spark Deals heavy damage with a beam of light from where you stand. Has a poison chance; long cooldown.

The Ward and Boost skills added later on the official servers and the ninth skills unlocked at champion level aren't available on every Pvp server; this guide focuses on the core skills.

Range: the archer's real weapon

The Archery Ninja's whole game plan is built on distance. Feather Walk doesn't last long, but its cooldown is short too; you can use it often to open up distance and change position. Since Poison Arrow knocks its target down, it's the best way to stop a melee fighter running at you.

There's one more important detail: according to the official wiki, the Chance to avoid arrows bonus can completely block regular arrow shots, but it doesn't block the Archery Ninja's ranged skills. If your opponent has a lot of this bonus, deal your damage with skills, not regular shots. On the other hand, your opponent's Arrow Defence directly reduces the damage they take from archers; be ready for long duels against opponents with high defense.

Skill order

The official wiki's Archery Ninja guide suggests this order:

  1. Poison Arrow: Poison, area damage and a knockdown in one.
  2. Fire Arrow: Area damage and high damage; adds a chance to set targets on fire.
  3. Repetitive Shot: High single-target damage; your main weapon in duels.
  4. Arrow Shower: Damage over a wide area; makes grinding easier.
  5. Feather Walk: Movement speed and a positional advantage.

You can put your remaining points into Spark. If you often have to run in Pvp, leveling Feather Walk earlier is also a sensible choice.

Stat distribution

According to the official wiki's stat pages, the stat that really raises a Ninja's attack value is Dexterity. Most ranged skills also scale mainly with Dexterity; Fire Arrow, however, scales with Intelligence.

  • Dexterity (DEX): Your top priority; it feeds both your attack value and your skills.
  • Vitality (VIT): Each point raises max HP by 40; it keeps you alive when you lose your distance.
  • Intelligence (INT): Part of the formula for skills such as Fire Arrow, Repetitive Shot and Feather Walk.
  • Strength (STR): Contributes to Arrow Shower and Poison Arrow, but adds little to the Ninja's attack value.

The wiki guide recommends raising Vitality and Dexterity alternately to 90 first, then moving on to Intelligence.

Bonus and bow recommendations for Pvp

We compared bonus priorities in our bonus priority article. The recommendations are based on the official servers' bonus lists; Pvp servers can change these lists.

  • Bow choice: The wiki guide recommends using a bow in Pvp and looking for Casting speed and Strong against Half Humans on it; for the level 30-65 range, it highlights a bow with Skill Damage.
  • Skill Damage: Worth more than Average Damage, since you deal most of your damage with skills. On the official servers, not every weapon has it; it appears on certain items such as level 30, 75 and 105 weapons.
  • Casting speed: According to the wiki guide, long cooldowns are one of the archer's weak spots; Casting speed closes that gap.
  • Chance for piercing hits: Since your skills are physical, it can add the opponent's defense to your damage; however, with skills and against players it triggers far less often than the bonus value suggests.
  • Defense: Max. HP, Defence against faint and, against casters, Magic Resistance. Against melee fighters who catch up with you, Sword and Two-Handed Defence are lifesavers too.

Pros and cons

According to the wiki guide, the Archery Ninja has plenty of Pvp skills and is a character guilds look for. On the other hand, it's harder to level and to earn Yang with, its skills have long cooldowns, and it isn't recommended for beginners. The guide also recommends using a dagger or a sword to kill monsters at low levels.

Frequently asked questions

What's the most important stat for an Archery Ninja?

Dexterity. It's the stat that really raises a Ninja's attack value, and most ranged skills scale with it. Since you're fragile, raise Vitality early as well.

Does Chance to avoid arrows block archer skills?

According to the official wiki, no. This bonus can block regular arrow shots, but it doesn't block the Ninja's ranged skills. So against opponents like that, deal your damage with skills.

Is the Archery Ninja good for beginners?

According to the wiki guide, not really: it's hard to level, and managing your distance takes skill. Switching to an archer once you know the game is more fun.

Where is the Archery Ninja strong in Pvp?

In open areas and guild wars, it's very effective as long as it can keep its distance. When an opponent comes at you, knock them down with Poison Arrow, get away with Feather Walk and deal your damage with Repetitive Shot.
