Metin2 Stat Distribution Guide: VIT, INT, STR and DEX Explained
Where you put the status points you earn as you level up directly decides how much damage your character deals in Pvp and how much it can take. One mistake in your Metin2 stat distribution can hold you back for a long time, until you find a way to reset. This guide explains what the four stats do, each class's starting values and which stat every class should prioritize, based on the official wiki.
How do you earn status points?
On the official servers, your experience bar has four orbs: up to level 90, each time one of the first three fills up, you earn a status point, and when the fourth fills up, you level up and get a skill point. You distribute your points in the character window (C key).
The most important rule: on the official servers, a single stat can take at most 90 points, and the official character tables show three stats at 90 at the final level while the fourth stays low. In other words, you can't max out everything; you have to give up one stat. Stat bonuses from your gear and jewelry are added on top of this cap. Pvp servers can change the points per level and the stat cap, so check your server's rules, especially in level ranges such as 1-120 or 65-250.
What do the four stats do?
Players usually just say VIT; in the game and on the official English wiki, the stat is called Vitality. According to the official values, each point does the following:
| Stat | Effect per point (official) | Who benefits most? |
|---|---|---|
| Vitality (VIT) | +40 max HP; also adds to defense and magic defense | Everyone; for the Lycan it also adds to attack |
| Intelligence (INT) | +20 max SP, +2 Magical Attack Value, +1 magic defense | Sura and Shaman; for the Shaman it also adds to attack |
| Strength (STR) | Raises attack value for Warriors and Suras, has little effect for Ninjas | Warriors and Weaponry Suras |
| Dexterity (DEX) | Raises the multiplier on your weapon's attack values and your Evasion | Ninja and Lycan; for both it adds directly to attack |
Watch out for two details: Strength doesn't add to the base attack value of Shamans and Lycans, but it can appear in the damage formula of some skills. Dexterity, for its part, helps every class through the weapon multiplier and Evasion.
Starting stats by class
| Class | VIT | INT | STR | DEX |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Warrior | 4 | 3 | 6 | 3 |
| Sura | 3 | 5 | 5 | 3 |
| Ninja | 3 | 3 | 4 | 6 |
| Shaman | 4 | 6 | 3 | 3 |
| Lycan | 6 | 2 | 2 | 6 |
The starting values also reveal each class's nature: the Warrior leads with Strength, the Ninja with Dexterity, the Shaman with Intelligence, and the Lycan with Vitality and Dexterity.
Priorities by class
- Warrior: The official wiki recommends that Warriors raise Vitality and Strength to 90 first and then move on to Dexterity. Strength is more critical for the Body branch, Vitality for the Mental branch.
- Ninja: Dexterity feeds both attack value and most skills, so it comes first, followed by Vitality. On the Archery branch, some skills such as Fire Arrow and Repetitive Shot also get stronger with Intelligence.
- Sura: On the Weaponry branch, Strength and Intelligence work together; Finger Strike and Dragon Swirl scale with both. On the Black Magic branch, Intelligence comes first, then Vitality.
- Shaman: The official wiki notes that Shamans value Intelligence above everything else, followed by Vitality and Dexterity.
- Lycan: Attack value draws on Dexterity and Vitality; Strength boosts the skills, and Intelligence boosts Crimson Wolf Soul.

Common mistakes
- Spreading points evenly: A character with equal points in all four stats isn't strong enough at anything.
- Leaving the plan for later: When you create your character, decide which three stats you'll raise and which one you'll give up. Changing your mind later means finding a reset item.
- Neglecting Vitality: In Pvp, staying alive matters as much as damage; by the official values, every point of Vitality is 40 HP.
- Ignoring your bonuses: Strength, Intelligence, Dexterity and Vitality bonuses from your weapon and shield are added to your stats, so plan your distribution around them.
- Resetting without a plan: On the official servers, the Status Reset Document is sold in the Item Shop and lets you redistribute the status points you earned by leveling up; your starting points stay where they are. Whether this item exists on Pvp servers varies from server to server.
Frequently asked questions
Is VIT the same as Vitality?
Yes. Both refer to the same stat; the official English wiki lists it as Vitality. Each point raises your maximum HP and your defense.
Can I reset my status points?
On the official servers, a Status Reset Document lets you redistribute the status points you earned by leveling up; your starting points don't change. On Pvp servers, how you get this item depends on the server's rules.
Can I put 90 points into every stat?
Not on the official servers; at the final level you can raise three stats to 90, and the fourth stays low. Stat bonuses from your gear and jewelry come on top of this cap.
Which stat matters most for Pvp?
It depends on your class, but Vitality is the foundation of survival for everyone. Your damage stat is Strength, Intelligence or Dexterity, depending on your class.
