Metin2 Blue Dragon (Beran-Setaou) Guide
Beran-Setaou, also known as the Blue Dragon, is one of Metin2's best-known dragon bosses. It waits for you in the Dragon's Temple deep inside the Grotto of Exile, and as long as the Metins around it are standing, not a single point of damage gets through to it. This guide covers the entry requirements of the Metin2 Blue Dragon fight, the Metin cycle, group setup and the items it drops. The information follows the official servers; Pvp servers can change the entry, the time limit and the rewards.

How do you enter the Dragon's Temple?
The way in has three steps: Koe-Pung in the Valley of Seungryong takes you to the first floor of the Grotto of Exile for a Blood Stone each time. From the portal on the first floor, you go to the second floor, where you talk to the Ghost of a Sura to be teleported to the Dragon's Temple.
- Level: Characters entering must be at least level 75.
- Group: At least 2 and at most 8 players can take part.
- Entries: You can enter once a day with 5 Twisted Keys, and five times a day with Dragon's Temple Entry items sold in the Item Shop. All 6 entries reset after 24 hours.
- Time: You have 60 minutes inside.
- Careful: If you restart in the city, you're teleported out of the dungeon and can't go back in.
Twisted Keys are dropped by the Generals (General Huashin and General Yonghan) on the second floor of the Grotto of Exile; they can also come from the Exile Reward Chest.
How the fight works: eight Metins and the cycle
When you enter, your first task is to destroy the 8 Metins in the area; only then can Beran-Setaou take damage. Here's the hard part: every 2 minutes 30 seconds, 8 Metins appear again, and as long as they're standing, you can't damage the dragon. There are four kinds of Metins:
- Metin of Mountain: Raises the dragon's defense.
- Metin of Solitude: Raises the dragon's HP regeneration speed.
- Metin of Arrogance: Raises the dragon's HP regeneration rate.
- Metin of Vengeance: Raises the dragon's attack.
Breaking the Metins late both shortens your damage window and makes the dragon stronger. That's why the first seconds of each cycle decide the fight.
Group setup and tactics
- Form a Metin team: Two or three high-damage players should hit the Metins of Vengeance and Mountain first whenever they appear, then the ones that heal the dragon.
- Hold the dragon and the leaders: A sturdy character should keep Beran-Setaou and the Setaou Leaders it summons on themselves. The dragon's own hits, on the other hand, can stun and knock you back.
- Use the damage window: The moment the Metins fall, the whole group goes all in on the dragon; the time until the next spawn is your damage window.
- Manage your SP: Losing 100 SP per hit quickly drains characters who rely on skills. Carry plenty of blue potions and keep your healer safe.
- Prepare for the final phase: When its HP gets low, its hits double in strength; save your healing and protective skills for that moment.
Your Metin team will need high-damage characters; we explain the Black Magic Sura's role in a group in our Black Magic Sura guide.

The Blue Dragon on Pvp servers
On Pvp servers, Beran-Setaou's HP, the entry tickets, the daily entries and the time limit can all be changed; some servers drop the Twisted Key requirement, others boost the rewards. Check the server's dungeon announcements before you go in. At level 97, the Blue Dragon can be one of the endgame challenges on servers in the 1-99 level range; you'll find such servers on the 1-99 level servers and Oldschool category pages.
Frequently asked questions
What level do you need for the Blue Dragon?
On the official servers, characters entering the Dragon's Temple must be at least level 75. Beran-Setaou itself is level 97, so going in with a strong group is a must.
Where do Twisted Keys drop?
The Generals on the second floor of the Grotto of Exile drop them; they can also come from the Exile Reward Chest. With 5 Twisted Keys, you can enter the temple once a day.
Why isn't Beran-Setaou taking damage?
As long as the 8 Metins in the room are standing, the dragon can't be damaged. The Metins reappear every 2 minutes 30 seconds, so in every cycle you have to break them first.
How many times a day can you enter the Dragon's Temple?
On the official servers, 6 times in total: once with Twisted Keys and five times with Dragon's Temple Entry. The entries reset after 24 hours.
