Where Do Bosses Spawn in Metin2? Boss Maps, Respawns and Drops
"Where do bosses spawn in Metin2?" is a question every player who wants stronger gear asks at some point. Some bosses appear at a fixed spot on the map, some at a random point, and some only at the end of dungeons. In this guide, we've gathered the map bosses in order of level, together with their respawn times and drops. The information follows the official servers; Pvp servers can change boss locations, respawn times and drops.
Getting to know map bosses
On the official wiki, bosses are listed under the "Boss" class. Knowing three details makes the hunt much easier:
- Spawn location: Some bosses spawn at a fixed spot on the map, others at random places. To find the random ones, you have to make rounds of the map.
- Respawn time: Bosses in the ape dungeons respawn every 30 minutes, and most big map bosses every 2 hours.
- Shared loot: Almost all the bosses on the list drop Soul Stones. Many of them also drop a chest of their own and the Leaders' Notes needed for the biologist quest.

We covered tactics for the bosses between levels 30 and 55 in detail in our early-level bosses guide. Below, we focus on the map bosses from level 60 onward.
Map bosses from level 60 onward
Giant Tortoise (Yongbi Desert)
This level 67 boss spawns at a random spot in the Yongbi Desert every 2 hours. It's aggressive, and its hits can knock you back. Besides its own chest, it can drop Soul Stones, Young Pet Books and Leaders' Notes. The Yongbi Desert is also the entrance to the Spider Dungeon and two of the ape dungeons, so you can drop into them while you wait for the boss.
Nine Tails (Mount Sohan)
Nine Tails (level 72) appears at random spots on Mount Sohan every 2 hours and is accompanied by Ice Golems. It can drop the Nine Tails' Chest, Soul Stones, Leaders' Notes and the Leaders' Soul Stone.
Flame King (Doyyumhwan)
The Flame King (level 73) spawns at random spots in Doyyumhwan every 2 hours. It can drop the Flame King's Chest, a Treasure Scroll (Tier C), Flame King Blood and Soul Stones.
Yellow Tiger Ghost (Hwang Temple)
The Yellow Tiger Ghost (level 75) spawns at a fixed spot in Hwang Temple every 2 hours and is accompanied by Bullfrog Generals. Besides its own chest, it can drop a Treasure Scroll (Tier C) and pet books.
Giant Ghost Tree (Red Forest)
The Giant Ghost Tree (level 84) appears at random spots in the Red Forest every 2 hours. Its hits can stun you. Since the wiki's drop list only contains Soul Stones, you'll mostly hunt it for that stone; you'll find the other Soul Stone sources in our Soul Stone guide.
Where are the dungeon bosses?
You only reach some bosses at the end of a dungeon:
- Death Reaper: On the top floor of the Demon Tower, which you enter from Hwang Temple.
- Azrael: On the last floor of the Devil's Catacomb, which opens up after you finish the Demon Tower. For tactics, see our Devil's Catacomb guide.
- Spider Baroness: In the Spider Queen's Nest at the end of the Spider Dungeon.
- Beran-Setaou (Blue Dragon): In the Dragon's Temple on the second floor of the Grotto of Exile, which you enter from the Valley of Seungryong.
- Razador: In the last area of the Red Dragon Fortress in Doyyumhwan.
- Nemere: On the top floor of Nemere's Watchtower on Mount Sohan.
- Meley: In Meley's Lair, which you enter through Dragon Watcher Dolnarr in Doyyumhwan.
A practical route for boss hunting
- Write down the times: Note when you killed a 2-hour boss so you don't miss its next spawn.
- Combine nearby maps: Since you can travel between Mount Sohan and Doyyumhwan through Dragon Watcher Dolnarr, you can cover Nine Tails and the Flame King in the same round.
- Search with your guild: To find randomly spawning bosses, spread your guild members across different parts of the map.
- Agree on the loot up front: Decide who gets the chest before the fight.
On Pvp servers, boss timers may be shortened, boss spawns may be announced in the chat window, or new server-exclusive bosses may be added. Before you start playing, check the server's boss list and Discord announcements.
