Metin2 Marriage System: Wedding, Marriage Jewelry and Love Points

Marriage in Metin2 is a fun way to make two players' bond official, but it has a power side too: spouses can teleport to each other and buff each other with special jewelry, whose strength depends on your love points. This guide covers the requirements of the Metin2 marriage system, how the wedding works, what the rings do and why love points matter. The information is based on the official servers; Pvp servers may change the marriage system or not use it at all.

What do you need to get married?

• Level: On the official servers, the Old Lady in the villages marries players of level 25 and above.
• Couple: According to the official wiki, a wedding is between a male and a female character.
• Engagement Ring: Both characters need an Engagement Ring. It comes from Revenge for the Ringtrader, a quest the Old Lady gives at level 25; the quest isn't marked on the map and asks you to kill 30 Jin-Hee.
• Outfits: The Peddler who wanders the second villages (Yayang, Bokjung, Bakra) sells tuxedos, wedding dresses and bouquets. According to the official wikis, the groom must wear a tuxedo and the bride a wedding dress to start the wedding, so visit him beforehand.

How does the wedding work?

1. Talk to the Old Lady. The couple starts the wedding through the Old Lady in the village.
2. Head to the wedding map. The wedding takes place on a special map that always runs on channel 0. Guests also teleport there through the Old Lady. The whole map is a safe zone; there's no fighting.
3. Say your vows. To make the marriage official, the couple talks to the Wedding Planner on the map. Through this NPC, the bride or groom can also change the sky, the snowfall and the wedding music.
4. Don't forget the guests. Every guest who stays on the map until the wedding ends gets 5 Red Potions (M).

With the wedding, both spouses' Engagement Rings automatically turn into Wedding Rings.

What does the Wedding Ring do?

On the official servers, the Wedding Ring's main use is teleporting you to your spouse. For that, you both need to be on the same channel, and each use costs 1,500 SP. The ring can't be used inside dungeons. The official wiki lists no stat bonus for the ring; the real bonuses of marriage come from the jewelry below.

What are love points?

Love points appear as a status icon when both spouses are online. Here's why they matter: the effect of all marriage jewelry depends on this percentage. If a couple's love points are at 50%, the jewelry's effect also drops to half its maximum value.

• Feather of Lovers: On the official servers, it's sold in the Item Shop for 7, 15 or 30 days and makes your love points rise twice as fast.
• How do the points go up? According to the official wikis, love points rise faster when the spouses kill monsters together; the exact amounts aren't listed. Your best bet is to learn your server's rules from its guide or announcements.

Marriage jewelry and bonuses

These pieces share a few rules:

• One wears it, both benefit. It's enough for one spouse to wear it; the bonus works for both spouses and lasts 3 hours.
• Stay in the same place. The jewelry only works while the spouses are on the same map and channel.
• The earrings give a second chance. When your normal critical hit chance fails, the Earrings of Love roll again to turn the attack into a critical hit. That's why they add nothing for a character whose critical chance has already reached 100%; the Earrings of Harmony work the same way for piercing hits.

Marriage on Pvp servers

On Pvp servers, the marriage system varies a lot.
