Metin2 Quest Guide: Don't Miss the High-Reward Quests
In Metin2, quests aren't just about the story: the right quest at the right level can earn you millions of experience points, valuable items and plenty of Yang in one go. The catch: some of the most generous quests are easy to miss on the map, and some change their reward the moment you make a choice. Here's where to get Metin2 quests and how to make sure you catch the high-reward ones. The information is based on the official servers; Pvp servers can change quests and their rewards.
Where do you get quests?
According to the official wiki, quests come from five sources:
- The scroll on the left of your screen: Many quests start automatically when you level up.
- The marker above an NPC: An arrow appears above the quest giver, and a light flashes on the village map and the mini map.
- No notification: Some quests only start when you talk to the NPC yourself.
- Items: You start a quest by using an item such as a Mission Book.
- Horse quests: These are given by the Stable Boy.
Add to these the Hunting Quests that come at every level; we covered them in our fast leveling guide.

Standout quest chains
The secret book (diary page quests)
This chain from Uriel starts at level 32 and runs until level 55. Each step has you either find a memorial or farm a diary page from certain monsters. The rewards grow with your level: the first page gives 1,250,000 EXP and a Goddess Tear, while the level 50 pages bring 5–6 million EXP plus items such as the Sage King's Symbol, the Sage King's Glove and the Medal of the Dragon. The chain wraps up with The last page, worth 7,000,000 EXP and a Book of the Leader.
Lee Chung's quests
From level 66, Lee Chung in the Hwang Temple hands out a series of high-reward quests. In Icy Treasure, you collect Blue Crystal Essence from the ice monsters on Mount Sohan; Lee Chung accepts at most 10 essences a day, and a delivery can fail. The Fight Begins and Prince Charon, both at level 84, send you to the 5th and 6th floors of the Devil's Catacomb; the dungeon details are in our catacomb guide.
Fire and Ice
This level 80 quest from Soon ends with the Black Ice in your hands and three options. If you sacrifice it at the Dark Shrine, you get 120,000,000 EXP and 3,000,000 Yang, but you're cursed and need an extra quest to lift the curse. If you throw it into the sea, you also get 120,000,000 EXP, plus random dragon items. If you give it to Soon, you settle for 70,000,000 EXP.
Daily quests and Mission Books
- Daily quests: On the official servers, you get 5 quests every day from level 50, and they reset at a set time every morning. Finish all five to earn a Daily Gift chest.
- Mission Books: These come in Easy, Normal and Hard. Using one starts a quest to kill certain monsters; the reward is random: experience, Yang or various items.
- Biologist: We covered this series, which gives permanent bonuses, in detail in our biologist quest guide.
Tips so you don't miss quests
- Stop by the village as you level up. Many quests arrive automatically as you level, but they don't progress until you visit the NPC.
- Don't rush quests with choices. In some quests, like Fire and Ice, your decision changes the reward. In the level 17 quest The gift for Chaegirab, telling the truth gets you a random Skill Book, while lying gets you a Lump of Gold.
- Prepare before starting timed quests. The level 66 quest Anonymous Letter asks you to kill 200 Red Dryads within 30 minutes; if you run out of time, the reward shrinks.
- Keep quest items in your inventory. Some NPCs only count the items in your inventory, so make sure the required items are in your inventory before you hand them in.
- Bundle your group quests. Doing the Devil's Catacomb and Demon Tower quests back to back with the same group saves you from entering the dungeon again and again.
Quests on Pvp servers
Many Pvp servers keep the official quests but adjust the rewards to the server's economy. On servers with high experience rates, quest experience matters less, but item rewards such as Skill Books, shoulder sashes and the Medal of the Dragon keep their value. Some servers shorten long chains or add their own custom quests. If you like the classic quest flow, check out Oldschool servers and 1-99 servers.
