Metin2 Events Guide: OX Competition and Seasonal Events

Events break the Metin2 routine and let you earn valuable rewards in a short time. You can outlast everyone in a quiz and grab the prize, or turn the event items you collect during a holiday into chests and mounts. This guide covers the best-known Metin2 events, especially the OX Competition and the seasonal events. The official servers' events serve as examples; Pvp servers usually run their own event calendar.

What is the OX Competition?

The OX Competition is a quiz of true-or-false questions. According to the official wiki, it works like this:

• Joining: An in-game announcement goes out when the event starts. Talk to Uriel to be teleported to the competition area; spectators take the same route.
• Answering: If you think the statement is true, go to the O area; if you think it's false, go to the X area.
• Elimination: Players on the wrong side are eliminated, but they can keep watching.
• Reward: The last player or players standing are rewarded; the prize is announced during the event.
• Rules: You can't shout or ride a mount in the area. Only the game team can start the event, either as a surprise or on a date announced in advance.

How to outlast everyone in OX

1. Read the whole question. Words like "always", "never" and "only" can make a statement false on their own.
2. Don't blindly follow the crowd. The majority running to one side doesn't make that side right.
3. Stand inside the area. Once you've decided, step inside instead of waiting at the edge.

Seasonal events on the official servers

In most of these events, you kill monsters in your level range to collect event items and trade them for rewards at an NPC or in the event panel. Some also have a level requirement: the Summer Event and the Anniversary's Boss Reaper part start at level 30, the Snowflake Event at Christmas at level 60.

System events and mini-games

• Metin Fever: From level 30, you can get a Challenge Scroll once a day to summon test Metins. As they fall, bosses such as the Bestial Captain, the Chief Orc and Nine Tails appear in turn; whether the next test Metin spawns is down to chance.
• World Boss Event: On the official servers, the boss appears at certain intervals in the Valley of Seungryong, the Yongbi Desert, Mount Sohan or Doyyumhwan. The goal is to deal as much damage as possible and stay on the map until it's defeated.
• Mini-games: In Catch the King, you collect King Cards from monsters and play a card game for rewards. The Okey Card Game and Yut Nori belong to this group too.
• Event dungeons: Maps such as Treasure Island and the Journey to the Otherworld only open at certain times.

Getting the most out of events

• Use your items in time. Some events delete the items you've collected when they end; in Catch the King, for example, leftover cards and decks disappear.
• Mind your level range. Event items usually drop only from monsters that match your level.
• Follow the calendar. Dates and rules can change every year, so don't miss the announcements.

Events on Pvp servers

On Pvp servers, events are mostly run by game masters (GMs). OX competitions, boss hunts, boosted experience or drop rates at set hours, and tournaments are the most common.
