Pvp Against Shamans in Metin2: Breaking the Healing Cycle
In Metin2 Pvp, the Shaman is the class that both deals magic damage and keeps its team on its feet. A Healing Force Shaman in particular can drag a fight out for a long time by restoring its own HP and its allies' HP and clearing negative effects. To win Pvp fights against Shamans, you need to break this healing cycle at the right moment. Here's how the cycle works and how to disrupt it. The information is based on the official servers; Pvp servers can change skill values.
How does the Shaman's cycle work?
The Shaman's cycle doesn't rest on a single skill but on several tools that complement each other:
| Skill | Group | Effect on the official servers |
|---|---|---|
| Cure | Healing Force | Restores HP instantly and has a chance to clear negative effects; can be used on the Shaman or a group member |
| Swiftness | Healing Force | Raises movement and casting speed |
| Attack Up | Healing Force | Gives a bonus to attack value |
| Blessing | Dragon Force | Gives resistance against close-combat attacks |
| Reflect | Dragon Force | Gives a chance to reflect close-combat hits |
| Dragon's Strength | Dragon Force | Raises critical hit chance |
Cure is the heart of the cycle: as long as healing and the chance to clear negative effects sit in the same skill, slowly wearing the Shaman down rarely works. The answer is to catch the moments when Cure can't be used. If you're curious about the damage-focused skill group, take a look at our Dragon Force Shaman guide.
Watch for the gap after Cure
In the official tables, Cure has a 10-second cooldown. The moment the Shaman uses Cure, that timer starts, and a window opens for you until the next heal. Save your strongest skills, your stuns and your poison for this window.
- Push when you see Cure: Apply moderate pressure first to make the Shaman spend Cure, then fit your real combo into the cooldown.
- Call it out in group fights: A short call like "Cure's down" helps your team focus its damage at the right moment.
- Drain its SP: Cure costs a lot of SP every time. Chance to rob SP has a set chance to cut the opponent's SP by 50 points on regular hits, which weakens the healer's hand.
Apply negative effects at the right moment
Since Cure has a chance to clear negative effects, poison and slows are often wasted if you apply them while Cure is ready.
- Poison: According to the official wiki, poison stops the target's HP and SP regeneration and deals damage relative to max HP. A Shaman poisoned while Cure is on cooldown has to lean on potions for HP.
- Stun: A stunned character can't move, attack or use skills, so a stunned Shaman can't use Cure either. Since the Warrior's Dash can stun its target, it's very valuable against Shamans.
- Slow: Cuts the opponent's movement speed for a while and makes it harder for a Shaman sped up by Swiftness to escape.

Strip the buffs
The Shaman's buffs strengthen the Shaman and its team. Here's how to remove them or make them useless:
- Dispel: This Weaponry Sura skill has a chance to remove the opponent's positive effects. Opponents buffed by the Shaman's Blessing or Swiftness should be the Sura's first targets.
- Ranged and magic damage: Blessing and Reflect are built to work against close combat. Against a team the Shaman supports, archers and magic users deal damage more easily.
- Short windows in melee: While Reflect is active, long chains of regular hits come back at you; open short, hard-hitting windows with skills instead.
- Critical resistance: Dragon's Strength raises your opponent's critical hit chance. Resistance against critical hits reduces the effect of this buff.
Defending against the Shaman's attacks
The Shaman's attack skills, such as Flying Talisman, Dragon's Roar and Summon Lightning, are listed as magic attacks on the official wiki. So:
- Magic Resistance: Reduces the damage of all the magic attacks you take.
- Defence against Shaman: Reduces the damage you take from Shaman characters.
- Defence against faint and slowing: Summon Lightning has a chance to stun and Flying Talisman a chance to slow; these shield bonuses help against both.

Frequently asked questions
When is the best moment to attack a Shaman?
Right after it uses Cure. In the official tables, Cure has a 10-second cooldown; squeeze your strongest combo and your negative effects into this window.
Can a Shaman cleanse poison?
According to the official wiki, yes: poison can be removed with the Cure skill. That's why applying poison while Cure is on cooldown is more effective.
Which bonuses work against Shamans?
Magic Resistance and Defence against Shaman are your core defense. On offense, Chance to rob SP pressures the healer's SP, while slow and stun chances break the Cure cycle.
Is a Healing Force Shaman a tough opponent in 1v1?
In 1v1, a Healing Force Shaman usually tries to win not with high damage but by dragging the fight out. A player who patiently watches for the Cure windows and times negative effects well can break this cycle.
