Metin2 Healing Force Shaman Guide: Be Your Group's Lifeline

A good healer decides whether a group stays on its feet, in guild wars and dungeons alike. The Metin2 Healing Force Shaman is a support character who restores HP, clears negative effects and makes teammates faster and stronger. This guide walks you through the skills, the support cycle in combat, and your stat and weapon choices. The information is based on the official servers; Pvp servers can change skill values.

What does a Healing Force Shaman do?

According to the official wiki, the Healing Force Shaman gives allies Movement speed, Casting speed and Attack Value; with Cure, it restores its own HP and that of group members and can remove negative effects. Against opponents, it attacks with lightning spells. In short, the better you play, the faster, stronger and tougher everyone in your group becomes.

The Shaman's other skill group, Dragon Force, focuses on damage and different buffs. If you can't decide between the two, also take a look at our Dragon Force Shaman guide.

Skills

Skill Type What it does (official)
Cure Support Restores HP instantly and has a chance to remove negative effects
Attack Up Support Raises the attack value of the group member you pick
Swiftness Support Raises movement speed and casting speed
Lightning Claw Magic attack Deals damage with a chance to slow; up to 5 targets
Lightning Throw Magic attack Attacks with lightning bolts; up to 5 targets
Summon Lightning Magic attack Calls down lightning with a chance to stun; up to 16 targets

The duration of Attack Up and Swiftness grows noticeably as the skill level rises. According to the official wiki, Swiftness is 1.2 times stronger when you cast it on yourself. On the official servers, the 9th skill Aether Ward, unlocked at champion level, protects group members from damage every 12 seconds; however, not every Pvp server has it.

The support cycle: which spell, on whom, and when?

  1. Before the fight: Cast Attack Up on your group's top damage dealer, and Swiftness first on yourself, then on the front line.
  2. At first contact: Stay in the back line and watch the HP bar of your tanky front-liner.
  3. When HP drops: Use Cure on the front line first, then on your fragile damage dealers. On the official servers, Cure has a 10-second cooldown; waste it and you'll be empty-handed at the critical moment.
  4. Against negative effects: Give a teammate who is under a negative effect the chance to be cleansed with Cure.
  5. When the enemy is crowded: Go for a stun with Summon Lightning, and slow anyone charging at you with Lightning Claw.
  6. Refresh your buffs: Renew Attack Up and Swiftness before they run out.

Opponents usually try to take down the healer first. To see how they'll try to break your cycle, read our Pvp against Shamans article.

Stat distribution

The official wiki says that Shamans value Intelligence above all, followed by Vitality and Dexterity. The reasons are clear:

  • Intelligence (INT): For a Shaman, each Intelligence point adds to attack value as well as SP and magic attack. Cure, Attack Up and the lightning skills grow stronger with Intelligence.
  • Vitality (VIT): Each point gives +40 max HP. Since you'll be your opponents' first target, your survival is your group's survival.
  • Dexterity (DEX): In the official formula, the strength of Swiftness depends on Dexterity; it also raises Evasion.
  • Strength (STR): Adds a little to Attack Up and some lightning skills, but isn't nearly as valuable as Intelligence.

Weapon and bonus choices

Shamans can only use fans and bells. In the official values, fans usually have a higher magic attack value than bells of the same level, while bells stand out in physical attack. Since Cure grows stronger with Magical Attack Value and the lightning skills are magic attacks, a fan suits the Healing Force Shaman better. The official wiki also recommends the fan for Pvp.

  • Casting speed: Shortens skill cooldowns and lets you use Cure more often.
  • Intelligence: Feeds all your skills.
  • Max. HP and Magic Resistance: Keep you standing against the spells of enemy Suras and Shamans.
  • Weapon type defenses: Sword, Dagger or Arrow Defence, depending on which classes target you most.

Group position and choosing a server

As a healer, stand right behind the front line, but out of reach of the enemy's first wave. When your Warrior steps forward, move up a few steps too; when they pull back, pull back with them. A server with lively group play and regular guild wars makes this class even more valuable. Frequently asked questions

Can you play a Healing Force Shaman solo?

Yes. Since Summon Lightning hits a wide area, you can kill monsters, and you can restore your own HP with Cure. Still, the class shows its real value in a group, especially in dungeons and guild wars.

Which skills should I level first?

There's no single right order: the Polish wiki describes Cure as a skill picked first or second, while the Healing Force guide on the official English wiki recommends an attack skill as your first Master, Cure as your second and Swiftness as your third. According to that guide, your first attack skill can be Lightning Throw or Lightning Claw for Pvp because of their short cooldowns, or Summon Lightning for killing monsters. Don't rush Attack Up, though: the English guide and the Polish wiki consider it the least useful buff, and according to the German and Romanian wikis, most shamans never take it to Master.

Does Cure remove negative effects?

Yes, with a certain chance. On the official servers, this chance increases as the skill level rises.

Should I use a fan or a bell?

For a Healing Force Shaman, a fan makes more sense: its magic attack value is usually higher and it strengthens Cure. Bells stand out with their physical attack value.
