Metin2 Jewelry Guide: Necklaces, Earrings, Bracelets and Shoes
Weapons and armor get all the attention, yet jewelry carries bonuses that make a serious difference in Pvp. Necklaces, earrings, bracelets and shoes each come with a fixed main bonus, grow stronger as you upgrade them and take extra bonuses. This Metin2 jewelry guide explains what each piece gives, what to look for when adding bonuses and which jewelry to pick for Pvp. The values follow the official servers; Pvp servers can change jewelry and bonus values.
Base bonuses of jewelry
Each type of jewelry has a main bonus that never changes, while the second bonus depends on the specific piece:
| Jewelry | Main bonus | Second bonus examples |
|---|---|---|
| Necklace | Casting speed | Elemental resistances, stats, HP and SP regeneration, piercing hits |
| Earrings | A stat (strength, dexterity, vitality or intelligence) | Max HP, max SP, attack value, critical hits |
| Bracelet | Attack speed | Max HP, max SP, poison resistance, HP and SP regeneration |
| Shoes | Movement speed and defense | Elemental resistances, arrow defense, poison resistance, casting speed |
On the official servers, the level 85-100 Ruby, Garnet, Tourmaline, Emerald and Sapphire jewelry carries a third bonus, and that's where its real Pvp value lies:
- Necklaces: Give a Strong against bonus for one class: Ruby against Warriors, Garnet against Ninjas, Tourmaline against Lycans, Emerald against Suras and Sapphire against Shamans. It rises to 10% at +9.
- Bracelets: Following the same pattern, they give a defense chance against that class's attacks, which also reaches 10% at +9.
- Earrings: Ruby Earrings give Resistance against Skill Damage, Garnet Earrings Average Damage Resistance, Emerald Earrings Average Damage and Sapphire Earrings Skill Damage; it's 5% at +9.
Bonuses you can add
Jewelry takes bonuses 1-5 like any other gear. A bonus the piece already carries as its main or second bonus can't be added again; the Golden Necklace, for example, has Arrow Defence as a base bonus, so it can't roll Arrow Defence as an added one. The options that stand out for Pvp are:
- Necklace: Sword, Two-Handed, Dagger, Arrow, Bell, Fan and Claw Defence (up to 15%), Max. HP (up to 2,000), Chance of critical hit and Chance for piercing hits (up to 10%), Faint chance.
- Earrings: Weapon defenses, movement speed (up to 20%), poison and bleeding resistance, Strong against Half Humans (up to 10%).
- Bracelet: Fire, Wind and Lightning Resistance, Magic Resistance (up to 15%), Max. HP, Chance for piercing hits, the "Damage will be absorbed by HP" bonus, Strong against Half Humans.
- Shoes: Weapon defenses, Max. HP, Chance of critical hit, attack speed (up to 8%), Faint and Slowing chance, Chance to avoid arrows.
The Strong against Half Humans bonus raises the damage you deal not only to monsters but also to players, which makes it valuable for Pvp on earrings and bracelets. We explain the bonus process itself in our bonus guide.
Upgrading and materials
Jewelry is also upgraded at the Blacksmith up to +9, and every grade boosts the main bonuses. The Ruby Necklace's casting speed, for example, goes from 6% at +0 to 28% at +9. For +7, +8 and +9, level 85-100 jewelry needs a White Pearl, a Blue Pearl and a Blood-Red Pearl respectively, on top of the other materials. If you don't save up pearls in advance, your upgrade run stalls halfway.
Where do you find jewelry?
- Starter jewelry: The Wooden Necklace, Wooden Earrings, Wooden Bracelet and Leather Shoes are sold by the General Store Saleswoman.
- Boss drops: Beran-Setaou can drop +4 versions of level 65-75 shoes.
- Crafting: Jae-Seon Kim at Cape Dragon Fire can craft level 85-100 jewelry. The Ruby Necklace takes 3 Rubies, 10 Golden Hooks, 10 Gold Buckles and 100,000 Yang, with a 30% success chance. This jewelry also comes from some chests.
Choosing jewelry for Pvp
- Pair your necklace and bracelet: A necklace and bracelet from the same series (Ruby, for example) give both an attack and a defense bonus against the same class. Pick the pair for the class you fight most on your server.
- Choose earrings for your build: If you play around Average Damage or Skill Damage, your earrings should back that up. We discuss this balance in our Pvp bonus priority article.
- Don't underestimate shoes: Movement speed wins chases, and added attack speed and critical hits pay off in Pvp too. To put stones into shoes, see our spirit stone guide.
- Mind the level cap: On a 1-99 server, you can't use level 100 Sapphire jewelry. Plan your jewelry around your server's level range; you can compare 1-99 and 1-120 servers.
